dbarrow2’s Review of Hinzes Bar-B-Que
  • Sausage: Sausage is very delicious with nice angles to their cutting technique instead of the traditional pepperoni cut.
  • Overall: I have some pretty consistent food at this place over the years which counts for something.

    • Potato Salad: Potato salad has an awesome flavor with pimento, egg, and nice size slices of onion.
    • Coleslaw: The coleslaw is a bit different with way too much vinegar.
    • Brisket: The brisket is unbeatable ranking very high in my book. It sneaks just slightly above Scott’s BBQ mostly because of it’s thickness.
    • Atmosphere: An old family favorite that has been here for years. I have eaten at this fine establishment several times including twice in the last month. The large pecan trees in the middle of the restaurant are a classic. The tree goes well with the giant moose wearing the ball cap in the corner. There are several other stuffed animals located throughout the place including a rooster next to some crates of eggs. I need to get the name of the interior decorator of this pad.
    • Spare Rib: The ribs are not that impressive today. There is not much meat to the bone and the rub was pretty light.
    • Sauce: Sauce excellent as usual. I have purchased more then one container of sauce from this joint.
