- Potato Salad: The potato salad is full of peppers and onion that are very pleasing to my big belly.
- Coleslaw: Cole slaw rocks no more needs to be said
- Sauce: They broke out the fine silver decanters to serve the sauce in. The sauce upon first appearance looks like the top of an open can of Spaghetti O’s. Upon closer inspection it tastes like it as well.
- Sausage: Pork Sausage is loaded with black pepper giving it a bite that grips the teeth. Toothpicks will be needed to clean out the gaps in my teeth that braces failed to close.
- Spare Rib: The ribs must have been soaked overnight in salt. They have a very strong flavor of bacon and the salt reminded me of being buried alive on the beach in Galveston, or that young Vietnamese girl on the Jersey shore last summer but that is on a different web site.
- Brisket: Fatty brisket that just melts in your mouth that exudes flavor.
- Beans: The beans are swimming in liquid and don’t have a lot of flavor
- Atmosphere: A packed house as usual at high noon. Pizzitola’s has been open for 64 years. Jerry Pizzitola has been running the show for 15years.
They have had several articles in magazines and the chronicle about how good the food is. Several Houstonians claim this is the best BBQ in town.
Very friendly owner and staff more then willing to accommodate our needs.
Excellent pictures on the wall of local Celebes. A couple of pictures of Earl the Pearl the Tyler Rose accent the front wall well. - Dessert: A must try is the homemade banana pudding reminds of the kind someone’s mom used to make but not mine.
