dbarrow’s Review of Hickory Fare Bar-B-Que
  • Sides: BBQ beans are very tasty, but the rest are not worth mentioning, but they are respectable.
  • Spare Rib: Smoked all the way through and the hickory flavor just comes right out and hits you. Not tender enough but GREAT flavor

    • Atmosphere: Don’t like the ivy on the outside of the building, it’s too foo-foo. Lots of good photos of semi-famous people on the inside, mostly country singers. Place is too new on the inside with red and white checkered table cloth. Little habanero sauce on the table is a nice addition. But NO BEER – apparently it’s a Tyler thing. They do have big red and lots of country music.
    • Brisket: Excellent flavor, very tender – this stuff can stand alone, no sauce necessary.
    • Sauce: very sweet with a little bit of tang, very nice, but I prefer my sauce spicy.
    • Sausage: Greasy and flavorful, but would like more spice. Great texture and right mixture of fat and meat.
