dbarrow’s Review of Queens Barbecue
  • Beans: Very nice spice, but just a little too mushy. Probably due to simmering all day? Try them at the lunch, probably perfect.
  • Sauce: Very spicy and slightly sweet. Very nice mixture, well balanced. Excellent!!

    • Spare Rib: Nice smoke flavor, but not enough rub and too firm and tough.
    • Potato Salad: Mustard based and better than average.
    • Coleslaw: Mush – YUCK!!
    • Sausage: Good flavor and texture. Very nice with good spices.
    • Dessert: Pina Colada Cake, home-made ice cream, and peach cobbler – all outstanding.
    • Brisket: They trimmed off all the good shit and this is way too firm. Arggghhh!!! They messed up a perfectly good cut of meat.
    • Atmosphere: Only place open on the island at this time. This place was not our intended stop, but thanks to Danny @ This Is It!! We are here, and happy to be here. Lots of Texas license plates and red, white, and blue table cloths. Newspaper articles and signed portraits by semi-famous people. Don’t touch the wooden Indian!! Old timey cash register is a nice ‘touch’ – can’t touch this either!! Buffalo hide overhead is definitely an unusual touch. Good tunes playing courtesy of the Arrow!!
