Coleslaw: Vinegar-based slaw; Sweet & Sour; Blanched leaf; Some interesting stuff in here… good. Spare Rib: Juicy & flavorful; Not over-rubbed. It’s a TOUGH rib with great flavor Potato Salad: Mustard-based; skin-on; Extra onions & veggies add crunch Sauce: Honey-sweet. Good spice. Jalapeno Sausage: Loose & juicy. Great Flavor. Great Spice. Love it.

Spare Rib: Full spare, with loads of pecan-smoke flavor. Sweet rub with plenty of black pepper on the finish. Smoke flavor is too strong… tasting some creosote here. Very good rib, except for the smoke ‘tang’. Dessert: Pecan pie

MAIN FARE: Sausage – Good, beefy. Made on-premise. Loose ground & packed. Not greasy, but still flavorful. Spare Rib – We called in advance and asked them to hold some ribs for us… Good rib! Nice texture and flavor; a little salty… its the rub, but not overpowering. OTHER FARE:

Potato Salad: Crunchy & creamy. There is alot of stuff packed in here! Beef Rib: Good. Juicy & greasy! I encounter a some tough gristle. Nice beef flavor, and again, I like the rub! Atmosphere: Established 1914.
<<Update: Apparently the joint struggled after the death of Bob Wells in 1999, but managed to stay open through our visit. It eventually closed in 2003, but re-opened as "The Smokehouse" under new owners , the Limon family.
