ssweeney’s Review of Stacys Bar-B-Q
Main Fare:
- Brisket has a good tenderness, although seems a bit dry on the finish. May be just a tad of bitterness in the meat. Above average.
- Sausage is another standard commercial product (Eckrich?).
- Rib is extremely hot to the touch… reheat? Meat is tender and pulls away from the bone easily. Good colors on the bark, but it is bland. A bit greasy, but fully rendered. This is a nice rib.
- Jalapeno Sausage is tasty and salty, with a good amount of heat.

Other Fare:
- Pintos are a bit salty, but real beans.
- Potato salad is mustard-based with heavy pickles. Very good.
- They also have a mayo-based potato salad that was very mild, but good.
- The macaroni salad was standard fare.
- Baked beans are standard fare.
- Peach cobbler had decent flavor and good texture.
- Pecan pie was goo-ood.
Atmosphere:
- The structure is clearly a converted house… reminds me of Ronnie Ingle’s place in Abilene.
- Serving line is cafeteria style.
- Joint has a comfortable feel, and loyal customers that tell us this is the best barbecue around.
- Again, very hospitable folks… warm and sincere.
